Learn Plant Magic
In this class you will be introduced to the bounty of Iowa’s “weeds”. Learn to identify various plants used by our ancestors for healing & magic.
Ditch Witchery is Plant Magic
Ditch Witchery is a form of Kitchen Witchcraft. It is herbalism and plant magic. A witch practicing ditch witchery uses whatever is handy for magical and/or healing purposes. Local weeds such as Queen Anne’s Lace or dandelions can be used in spells or healing tinctures. For example, Stinging Nettle can be a problem (and painful!) weed in the middle of your flowers. However, it’s great for protection magic and also full of healing nutrients when made into an infusion.
Taught by Wild Indigo Coyote
Wild Indigo Coyote is a group of three women – Jennifer Bishop, Deb Kuehne and Laurie Fox – who work together to bring three different perspectives to readings and classes. They are all deeply connected to nature. Plant magic is an integral part of their witchcraft. They are practitioners at Illuminations and teach classes around Cedar Rapids and at Kirkwood Community College. Wild Indigo Coyote hosts the Midwest Witches Conference.
