Drumstick Making Workshop

March 3, 2017 @ 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm

$20

Jorge Peña, in collaboration with Common Road to Recovery, is offering a Native American drumstick creation workshop. Jorge is considered a Master Drum Maker and has been making drums and drum sticks for over 30 years. Jorge brings the spiritual, metaphysical, and holistic aspects of the drum to life. Jorge has been teaching these classes for over 20 years, to all ages and walks of life. Jorge travels the country, giving seminars such as these, in order to bring treatment to Native American’s and Veteran’s suffering from mental health and substance abuse issues. All money collected from drum class seminars are used for purposes of bringing treatment to veterans, free of charge. All materials are provided and the attendee is taught how to make the drum, including the story of the drum, and why drums are important to almost all races and ethnicities of people on earth. This workshop not only offers insight on the background and importance of the drum, but the importance of the drum stick as well. Please call 319-202-1509 to reserve your spot in this class.
